Letters: Sunnyslope Water District residents have right to know where costs will go

Dear Editor,
The current base rate for water from the Sunnyslope County Water
District is $1.68 per 100 cubic feet.
Sunnyslope is in the process of adding reverse osmosis treatment
to its water. According to the June 7, 2008, edition of The
Economist (page 27), the current cost of water treated with reverse
osmosis is $0.75 per cubic meter, or $2.12 per 100 cubic feet. This
cost will have to be added to the base rate.

Sunnyslope customers have a right to know that the decision to treat their water with reverse osmosis could more than double their base rate.

A stop sign is needed at Westside Boulevard and Fourth Street

Dear Editor,

What is needed to have a stop sign put up on the intersection of Westside Boulevard and Central Avenue. Their are near-miss car accidents on a daily basis. There are school children that cross that intersection, and I am afraid one or more will be struck by cars that speed through trying to catch a stalled green light at Fourth and Westside. I live a couple of houses down from the intersection and I am a witness to what I have written … again, we need a stop sign at Westside Boulevard and Central Avenue before their is a fatality.
