Guest View: Resident wants to take advantage of opportunities

It’s with sadness that I am writing this letter. Sad because for
the last few years I have been trying to see if this county would
change. The leaders we have been having have been comfortable with
what we have. To have changes and make things work you have to take
chances. You have to have guts. I see my days going by without
results.

It’s with sadness that I am writing this letter. Sad because for the last few years I have been trying to see if this county would change. The leaders we have been having have been comfortable with what we have. To have changes and make things work you have to take chances. You have to have guts. I see my days going by without results.

Starting with Measure G and Hillside Ordinance that have never been decided. The casino that could have this county’s economy pretty healthy – they choked it before it could take a breath. I’m talking from experience. The three times that we have vacationed in Oklahoma the casinos there are miles apart with great economies in the area, jobs with lots of people to fill them. We lost a good opportunity in my opinion.

The development on the Bolsa and all the others – we all line up against it before they even have a chance. Now we have a good opportunity with the solar system in the Panoche Valley with no side effects to us. I already see people screaming against the project and those are almost all from the outside trying to tell us what to do. It is time our leaders start making our decisions – guts is what is needed and without that we are going to die inside the egg without hatching.

In these things I don’t have the expertise but in my common sense I feel we have been losing some health opportunities. To succeed you can’t always be comfortable. Sometimes you have to take a hit and if you do and get good results, that’s when you feel proud of yourselves. Heck with the ones that have no interest in our economy. It’s time for you to take your hands our of your pockets and do your jobs.
