New executive joins YMCA staff

The YMCA Community Support Campaign provides financial support to eligible families and subsidizes some programs.

The YMCA of the Central Coast has hired a regional executive director for Santa Cruz and San Benito counties. Andy Weighill will oversee the San Benito and Watsonville YMCAs.
Weighill comes with 12 years of experience working with the YMCA in other communities. He started his career in Detroit as a senior program director with a focus on aquatics, youth sports and day camps. He served as executive director of the South Dade YMCA in Miami. During his tenure in South Dade, he led one of the fastest growing Y facilities in the country and oversaw branch operations during the construction of a new state-of-the-art location.
Weighill studied at Huron University in South Dakota, where he completed a double degree in history education and business administration.
Rochelle Callis previously served as the vice president for the Northern Region, overseeing the Hollister and Watsonville YMCA locations.
