Hollister area had 1-2 inches of rain over weekend

Flooding occurred along San Benito Street near the high school area during the December storm.

The Hollister area’s precipitation levels since Friday ranged from 0.79 inches in southern San Benito County to nearly two inches of rain to the north of the city as of Monday morning.
The most recent measurements showed .0.79 inches on Panoche Road, one inch at Ridgemark, 1.05 inches at the downtown Hollister Fire Station and 1.74 inches six miles north of Hollister, said Austin Cross, a forecaster for the National Weather Service office in Monterey.
There are just a few light showers remaining in the region that should wrap up by Monday afternoon. For the rest of the week, Hollister residents can expect mostly sunny and clear weather. Temperatures should warm up to the mid- to upper-70s by the end of the week, Cross said.
