Letter: Comments on Bolado golf, health officer

Public Health Officer Anju Goel, center-front, and Mayor Ignacio Velazquez, right, presented the Hollister Nob Hill manager with a certificate Thursday morning to honor the company's decision to halt all tobacco sales starting in February. Store employees

This is in reference to two of your recent articles in the Hollister Free Lance.
1. Golf course: I support the name change to Pinnacle Hills Golf Club (which immediately gives an idea of its geographical location), and the short-term lease with an outside operator to run it, especially since this operator already runs nine other golf courses in the vicinity. Both, San Benito County and the operator have a vested interest in the health of our golf club, so this will likely be a win-win situation for both parties.
2. San Benito County Health Officer: Kudos to Dr. Goel for snuffing out tobacco and its products from our Nob Hill and other stores in Hollister. As a person in healthcare, I welcome this as a positive step toward the health of our county denizens.
Congratulation to you for keeping us informed about our region.
Susan Mathur, Hollister
