Hold on tight to your hat, there’s a storm coming to town.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory effective from 1 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday due to a “strong cold front” headed for the Bay Area and Central Coast regions Saturday afternoon. Gusts of 35 mph to 50 mph are possible, according to the weather service.
Expectations for a windy Saturday come in the midst of a long-awaited rainy period for San Benito County. A series of systems are moving through the area over the next week-plus. Rain is in the forecast for the Hollister area for every day, except Tuesday and Wednesday, through March 13.
The storms leave hope yet for drought relief in this year’s El Niño, which hasn’t deposited the onslaught of rain as predicted to this point in the rainy season.
