San Juan student takes home Cal-SOAP honor

Student honored

A San Juan School student was recently selected as a South County Cal-SOAP student of the month. South County Cal-SOAP works with four school districts—including the Aromas-San Juan Unified School District and the San Benito High School District—to prepare low-income or first-generation college students for success in higher education. Student of the month honorees are nominated by principals, teachers, administrators and Cal-SOAP staff.
According to the statement shared by the nonprofit:
Jesus Diaz, of San Juan School, is a very polite young man, who always comes to tutoring quietly and well prepared. He works on his homework and reads without disturbing others around him. If he needs help, he raises his hand to let the tutor know he needs help. He offers to help others. He is outgoing and has plans to someday play professional soccer and or become a famous artist. During his free time he loves to draw. He is currently in 7th grade and plays on the local soccer youth league. He sees achieving his dreams as his goal.
