Hollister police made an arrest related to a downtown shooting Monday afternoon.

According to police:

Police arrested a man for a shooting that took place in the 500 block of San Benito Street, on April 3, 2017.

On April 3, 2017, a business meeting was being held in a near-by office.  The meeting became heated and an argument took place between several of the participants.

Two persons attending the meeting left.  As they were driving away, shots were fired at a car that was parked along San Benito Street.  The car was hit several times.  The vehicle belonged to one of the meetings attendees.

Detective Martinez investigated the crime which included a review of the downtown cameras. The incident was observed / recorded on the downtown camera system. His investigation revealed Adrian Amezcua (38) as the suspect in this case.

Surveillance was conducted at Amezcua’s home and police were able to contact and arrest him during the early morning hours without incident.  Detectives then executed a search warrant at his home.

Amezcua was booked at the San Benito County Jail and he is currently out on bail.
