California Highway Patrol officers are conducting their annual “Chips for Kids” holiday toy drive, and are inviting the public to contribute to help bring the season’s joy to needy children this winter.

The Hollister-Gilroy Area office of the CHP is partnering with the Walgreens store in Hollister to conduct the toy drive, which started Nov. 26. Through Dec. 17, local residents and Walgreens customers can drop off new, unwrapped toys in collection bins located at the store, 600 Tres Pinos Road in Hollister. The donated items will be delivered to Chamberlain’s Children Center in Hollister Dec. 19.

A toy collection bin has also been placed in the lobby of the Hollister-Gilroy Area CHP office in Gilroy, 740 Renz Lane.
