The overwhelming urge to change my life crept up on me a few months back. Could this be the beginning of the dreaded mid-life crisis? Happily married, beautiful children, a comfortable house, and a decent-paying job, so why the compulsion to suddenly question all my choices? This was the conundrum. There wasn’t any yearning to purchase a new sporty car or to wantonly run off with the first hot musician at Mom & Pop’s Saloon on karaoke night. I already have a drunk husband who sings off key. Just kidding.
Bone Off rib cook off: The fourth annual Bone Off rib cook off will be June 1 at the San Benito County Historical Park, in Tres Pinos. The amateur barbecue contest starts at 9 a.m., with judging at 3 p.m. for the 35 contestants. Admission is free. The event will include live music and games for the kids. San Benito High School students put on their annual winter dance concert Dec. 7-9. As it does every year, the concert featured a variety of upbeat and exciting music. Some songs included: "If You're Out There" by John Legend, "Dream World" by Robin Thicke and "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People. More than 100 students performed during the concerts.
