Police arrested a Gilroy woman after she led officers and sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Hollister, according to authorities.

A San Jose man was pronounced dead at the scene of a Jan. 2 traffic accident on Highway 25 near Bolsa Road, according to authorities. A Hollister man who was driving another vehicle involved in the accident was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Hollister Police officers investigated an Oct. 18 hit-and-run collision in which the driver fled the scene, leaving behind two small children in the car, according to authorities. The driver was later arrested on suspicion of multiple charges.

Hollister Police will conduct a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint Sept. 27 at an undisclosed intersection within the city limits.

Hollister Police arrested six motorists on suspicion of driving under the influence and issued 28 citations for driving without a license or on a suspended license during a St. Patrick’s Day checkpoint.

The checkpoint will start 5pm Sunday, March 17, and continue to 1am March 18, according to a press release from Hollister Police. The checkpoint will take place at an undisclosed location inside the city limits.
