The companies overseeing a massive solar project in Panoche Valley came to terms on a 20-year “power purchase agreement” with a utility in Southern California, according to an announcement from that utility, Southern California Edison.
During the Aug. 21 meeting of the county board of supervisors, four residents spoke during the public comment period in which they could comment on items not on the agenda.
The recent joint venture agreement bringing the nation's largest public utility into the mix on the Panoche Valley solar project is a welcome sign and should answer any concerns about the plan's financial validity.
