Chamber website

The San Benito County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau launched its new website over the weekend.
Readers can view the site at sanbenitocountychamber.com.
The new website—the prior site had been inactive for months as the chamber redesigned it—includes a home page featuring photos and chamber members along with the organization’s new logo. Hollister-based Redbeard Communications designed the site and logo, said Juli Vieira, the chamber’s president.
“Our hope is this will give our members more visibility in the community,” Vieira said.
She mentioned how members can post job openings and the site includes the chamber’s signature calendar of events.
“That’s what we’re back to,” Vieira said, “having the chamber kind of be the hub of where everybody looks for what’s going on in the community.”
The site also includes a paid member spotlight section where those businesses or organizations can advertise for given periods of time.
Vieira talked about the new logo—a yellow center with strips of blue and green fanning out. She said it represents movement for the organization.
“The chamber is moving forward. The chamber is evolving,” she said.
Vieira, who came on as chamber president last fall, also pointed out how the chamber will launch a separate website focused on tourism in the next month or so.
The chamber plans to revive the “Spotlight” job fair in April 2016, with no official date set. It would fill a gap previously filled by the relatively stagnant Economic Development Corp. of San Benito County.
“The last couple of years it’s been a little flat,” Vieira said of the chamber. “With the new website, with new marketing, with new benefits to our members, we feel the chamber is evolving.”
