As the holiday season approaches, we all start looking for the
perfect gift. One of the best gifts doesn’t need to be wrapped, is

As the holiday season approaches, we all start looking for the perfect gift. One of the best gifts doesn’t need to be wrapped, is never the wrong size or color and is tax deductible. A donation to your favorite local charity or non-profit organization in your name or the name of someone you love will bring smiles all around and give you a warm fuzzy feeling.

People have been overwhelmingly generous during the all the current disasters in the world but they’ve also been overwhelmed by all the needs. This has a grave impact on local organizations. “Donor fatigue” means that our local charities suffer.

We live in an area with so many worthwhile charities and organizations that a person can easily find one that is deserving of support. Like shopping locally, giving to a local organization means that your money enhances the community and your dollars produce immediate and visible results. Some organizations, like the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center, depend entirely on private donations. So help our community by donating to a local organization this season. It is the perfect gift.
