Emiliano Tibursio Garcia, age 87, passed away on October 29, 2007, at his residence in Temecula. Emiliano was born on August 11, 1920 in Hayden, AZ. Emiliano worked in the City Maintenance Department in Hollister from 1950-1957, he then moved on to become a sheet rocker in San Jose from 1958-1973, then from 1976-1985 he volunteered in teaching and maintenance at the Apostolic Christian Academy in Hollister. He went on to become a Hollister Transit Driver from 1986-1993. Emiliano served in the U.S. Army as Sergeant in the 126th Infantry, he earned a purple heart and an Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. He served from July 1942-November 1945 in the Asiatic Pacific Arena during WWII. He also received a Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 bronze star. Among other awards, he has received multiple appreciation awards from the Apostolic Christian Academy. He was a member of Rancho Community Church and their Mature Adults Program. He was also a member of the American Legion and the retired carpenter’s union in Santa Clara, CA.

Emiliano is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Garcia of Temecula; daughter Christine of Morro Bay; step-son Thomas Nolan of San Diego; sons; Larry and Robert, both of San Jose; son Danny of Los Banos; 14 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; care givers Tami Hop and Alan Balcom.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The American Bible Society.
