The Hollister High girls varsity soccer team ran its record to
5-3 with an 8-0 defeat of Alvarez Tuesday on the Eagles’ pitch in a
non-league match.
Girls soccer:The Hollister High girls varsity soccer team ran its record to 5-3 with an 8-0 defeat of Alvarez Tuesday on the Eagles’ pitch in a non-league match.

The Balers, playing without top scorer Rose Vandenberg who’s out on vacation, had three goals from Jenny Maheu, two goals each from Julie Broyer and Kory Case and a goal from Jennifer Tobias.

The Balers also played without Amy Baxter, who was injured in Burlingame Tournament. Baxter’s status is hopeful for a return when the Balers travel to Monterey on Friday. Hollister hosts Monte Vista Christian on Monday.

The Baler JVs are now 3-2 following a 6-0 win at Alvarez. Felicia Freitas and Erica Trujillo had two goals apiece, while Kitra Brigantino and Melissa Aguilar had a goal each.

JV girls hoop: In junior varsity girls basketball Tuesday, the Balers whipped Lynbrook 44-25 in the first game of the Oak Grove Tournament.

Jamie Hall led a balanced scoring attack with eight points.
