Editor,
Election time is on its way. We are just a few months from the primaries. I see few new people getting in the race. I hope they understand the county situation. When, in order to balance the budget, they have to dig into reserves, it tells me the county is going broke.
Whoever is elected better believe things must be changed to turn business in the right direction. The plans they have been working with have proven not to work. When everything stops, no revenue comes in to cover costs. It is always better to work with some growth than no growth at all. This county needs to elect some intelligent people with the expertise to be able to work together to solve these many problems.
I have been riding down with the system against my will. I ride with the feeling we are going to crash. Nobody wants to admit fault. In my opinion, lots of damage has been done. What we need here are people with strong attitudes who believe this must be changed to bring prosperity.
If your intent to be elected is only to be on the seat with no ideas to improve the county’s situations, it would be better to forget being elected. The problem is we have been having too many of those. If the tree had no roots, you would have no tree. Being so involved, I know all of these people who are trying to be elected and they happen to be all my friends. I have no idea which one is better qualified. I decided to be neutral and let the public decide what is best for the county.
