Everyone seems so caught up by Romney’s “47%” comments. With a secret hidden camera the twisted press sensationalized it by taking Romney’s comments out of context to generate “breaking news” and “serious investigative journalism” which gave the talking heads weeks of fodder.
Let’s get real. If you were running for some office and knew there was absolutely no way I was going to vote for you, would you waste your limited time or money on me? Of course not and I would totally understand. Romney’s comments had nothing to do with how he would represent us if elected just simply how he would invest the precious dollars he was trying to coax out of the pockets of his wealthy guests.
That brings me home to California and yet another news item. “Obama spent the night in California fundraising…” Both candidates visit California regularly and eagerly to fundraise but I have yet to hear either of them do any serious campaigning here! Why? Let’s again be honest. Because they BOTH see California as their “47 percent”! Obama see’s California as “in the bag” and based on the campaigning I haven’t seen, so does Feinstein and Farr. I didn’t even know they were running until I opened my sample ballot. We have already been counted. Why doesn’t the press jump on these “47 percent’s”? What’s the difference?
As an intelligent independent voter, I resent California being considered anyone’s “47 percent”!
