Linda Gale Gomes-Watts
Linda Gale Gomes-Watts passed away August 22, 2007. She is survived by her husband Skip Watts; children, Joe Keller and Marguerite Murphy; mother Marguerite Gomes; sister of Lillian Hill and Bobby Gomes; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Gomes.
Olive May Thomas
Olive May Thomas, a longtime resident of Hollister, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2007 in Lancaster, California. She was 98. Olive was born December 8, 1908, to William and May Campbell, early day pioneers of San Felipe and Hollister areas. She was born while the family lived in San Felipe on Lovers Lane and attended school in San Felipe and later in Hollister. While living in San Felipe, Olive and her family attended the quaint old "San Felipe Church" on Frye Lane. When Olive was eight years old, the family moved to Hollister, where they had one of the largest apricot and prune orchards in San Benito County. She had many wonderful years in Hollister before moving to Santa Cruz, where she resided until her retirement in 1979 from nursing. After her retirement ,she moved back to Hollister to be closer to family and friends.
Megan M. Adamsky
Megan M. Adamsky, 80, a long-time Gilroy resident, passed away unexpectedly, but quietly, in her sleep November 27, 2007, in a Turlock hospital after a very brief stay. Mrs. Adamsky, born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sturek in St. Joseph, MO., led an adventurous life. After graduating from the University of New Mexico, she taught school in Los Alamos and Seattle. She then moved to an oil camp in the jungles of Venezuela, where she was responsible for educating the children of the oil workers. There she met John Adamsky, who remained her loving husband until his death in 1994. His work took them to many parts of the globe from Italy to the Far East. They eventually settled in their retirement years in Gilroy, where Mrs. Adamsky was a member of the AAUW. She is survived by her sister, Jo Ann Eklund of Peoria, AZ, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gilroy on Monday, December 3 at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gilroy Library, whose personnel helped her immensely during the long period of her home confinement, or to Guide Dogs of America, 13445 Glenoaks Blvd., Sylmar, CA 91342. Megan would approve -- she loved all dogs.
Doreen E. Barroza
Doreen was born in Gilroy to Rocky & Mildred Rea on December 13, 1929. She attended grammar school in Gilroy before moving to San Jose. She graduated from San Jose High School and then went on to attend O'Connor's School of Nursing. She met "Lucky" and married in August 1949. She was married for 59 years and is survived by "Lucky" Manuel and three children; Randy (Gloria) of Mesa, AZ, Kathy (Harry) Hill of Hollister and Dennis (Julie) of Gilroy. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, JulieAnn Barroza of Morgan Hill, Damian & Jennifer Hill of Hollister, Justin & Sierra Barroza of Gilroy, sisters; Virginia Grossi, Vira Bowen and Mildred Pendergraft, along with many nieces and nephews.

Robert Kenneth Tremblay
Robert is survived by his wife Martha, children Laura, Rebecca, Lainie, Robert, Brad, Gary, and Harbor, brother Ernest, sister Yvonne, and 17 grandchildren. Services have been held. Burial took place at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
M. Marie Rey
M. Marie Rey passed away in Hollister at the age of 84. She was born in Hollister at the old Hazel Hawkins Hospital. She grew up in the Panoche area of San Benito County and attended Panoche School, San Benito High School, San Benito Jr. College and was a graduate of what is now San Jose State University. She taught in local elementary schools, was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Native Daughters of the Golden West and was a past president, the VFW Auxiliary and Bolado Park Golf Course Women's Club. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rey who died in 1987.

She is survived by her children Barbara (Ralph) Borelli, Tony (Rosie) Bettencourt, Rose (Bob) Hess, Kathy (Mike) Camino, Louie (Keithly) Bettencourt, David (Renee) Bettencourt, and Apple (Paul) Fierro; she is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
