On May 9, Patty joined her recently departed parents Bob and Nat Duncan from complications due to breast cancer. Patty 54, was a lifelong resident of Morgan Hill and Gilroy. She was a much beloved teacher at Britton Middle School. Her home economics classes, like her life were filled with laughter and great aromas. Patty is a graduate of Live Oak High School, and received a BA from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Home Economics and her teaching credential from San Jose State University. After college, Patty worked in retail. Twenty year ago, she started substitute teaching in Morgan Hill, and joined the faculty at Britton in 2001.

Patty was a long time volunteer at Gourmet Alley during the Gilroy Garlic festival, at the Mushroom Mardi Gras, and other local craft and food festivals. Patty also taught counted cross-stitch classes at a local stitch shop for many years.

Patty is survived by her devoted husband of twenty-one years, Sam Rockwell. She will be greatly missed by her fellow teachers, students, and many, many friends. A celebration of her life will be held at the Britton Middle School Gymnassium Wednesday, May 28th, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.
