Hollister Police arrested four juvenile males Friday after responding to a report of a burglary in progress at Cerra Vista Elementary School.

On July 14, officers arrested four juveniles, two 17-year olds, one 15-year old and one 12-year old, and booked them into the San Benito County Juvenile Justice Center on charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and possession of cannabis under the age of eighteen.

Around 3:50 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the report and surrounded the school before going inside to investigate.

Once inside, officers found four suspects near a broken-in classroom. The suspects fled in different directions and officers arrested three suspects on the campus after a short foot pursuit. They arrested the fourth suspect a few blocks away.

According to a Hollister Police Department press release dated Wednesday, July 19, officers found evidence during the investigation that linked the juveniles to the burglary at Cerra Vista School, as well as another burglary at Calvary Christian School.

Police found cannabis on one of the juveniles, but the juvenile told officers that the cannabis belonged to all four arrested.

In the press release, the police department thanked witnesses who came forward in the case.
