The Hollister Police Department identified a hit and run victim from a collision Thursday night.

On November 9 around 9:30 p.m., Hollister police officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision report. The incident was reported at Pinnacles National Park Highway and Meridian Street. The Hollister Fire Department and AMR also responded.

Officers located Hollister resident Kathy Haro, 56, down on the roadway just north of Meridian Street. The victim was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.

The investigation revealed that at least one vehicle hit Haro and fled. As many as two or more vehicles may also have struck the victim in the roadway after the initial collision.

At this time, the Hollister Police Department does not have a description of the suspect vehicle. Other motorists stopped and attempted to render aid to the victim.

The Hollister Police Department offers its sincere condolences to Haro’s family and friends. Investigators are asking for public help.
