Ag Against Hunger is looking for volunteers to glean organic
lettuce and cabbage at a Coke Farms field on Saturday. The meeting
time is 9 a.m. at the Windmill Market in San Juan Bautista.
Volunteers should expect to commit three hours including:
transportation, orientation and the actual harvesting of crops for
the gleaning session. Working with local growers, volunteers help
collect high quality, marketable produce that has been left behind
after commercial harvest. The food they collect is then transported
to food banks and pantries in the tri-county area.
