creator of GOT MILK?, to share delicious, decadent and whimsical
milkshake recipes for treat-lovers to enjoy during the hot days of
the season.

Just in time for summer parties and socials, Swan and BLD have partnered with the California Milk Processor Board (CMPB), the creator of GOT MILK?, to share delicious, decadent and whimsical milkshake recipes for treat-lovers to enjoy during the hot days of the season.

“Milk is not only a healthy beverage, it’s also the base for many fun drinks like milkshakes,” said Swan, a graduate of the California School of Culinary Arts and a pastry chef at BLD for more than two years. “Drinking a milkshake brings out the kid in everyone, but each flavor highlights a person’s personality.

Available exclusively on www.gotmilk.com/recipes, Swan has created summer milkshake recipes for those who cannot resist this good old-fashioned treat. She features one-of-a-kind milkshakes on her menu, each carefully created to bring out a unique personality.

“These milkshakes are more than a treat,” said Steve James, the CMPB Executive Director. “They’re an absolute delight for kids of all ages. This milkshake program is one of the ways the CMPB hopes to educate consumers about the many creative ways they can incorporate milk in their diets.”

Cookie jar milkshake

Serves 2

2 c. mint or vanilla ice cream

1/2 c. milk

Handful of mint leaves

3 different cookies

The day before, combine the milk and mint and chill overnight to infuse the milk with the mint flavor. When you’re ready to make the shake, remove the mint leaves from the milk. Combine milk and ice cream in a blender and pulse until just combined. It will be very thick.

Spoon a third of the shake into two glasses. Crumble the first cookie over the shake. Spoon another third of the milkshake over the cookies and crumble the second type of cookie over the shake.

Repeat once more with the remaining shake and top with the final cookie. This is best enjoyed with a very wide straw and a spoon.

Orange dreamsicle milkshake

Serves 2

1 1/2 c. ice

1/2 c. orange juice

1/2 c. milk

1 vanilla bean, scraped

2 tsp. vanilla extract

Blend all the ingredients until smooth. Serve with in a chilled glass and enjoy.

Frozen Mexican chocolate

Serves 4

2 c. ice

1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder

1/4 c. sweetened condensed milk

1/2 c. milk

1 tbsp. ground cinnamon

2 brownies, crumbled

Place all of the ingredients in a blender and pulse until combined. It’s so rich, this chocolatey drink needs no garnish.

Blueberry malt milkshake

Serves 2

1 pint vanilla ice cream

1/2 c. milk

1 c. fresh or frozen blueberries

1/4 c. malted milk

To finish: whipped cream and blueberries

Place the ice cream, milk, blueberries and malted milk in a blender. Pulse on low speed until just combined. Divide between two glasses. Top with whipped cream and garnish with fresh blueberries.

Salted Caramel Milkshake

Serves 2

1 pint vanilla ice cream

1/4 c. caramel sauce

1/2 c. milk

1 tbsp. salt

To finish: whipped cream

Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until combined. Divide between two glasses and top with whipped cream.
