Two small earthquakes shook the area north of the Pinnacles National Monument Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first earthquake hit at 10:18 a.m. about eight miles northwest of the monument and 18 miles south of Hollister, according to the USGS. The 3.3 earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.7 miles.
An additional 3.0 earthquake hit in the same area 12 minutes later. The second earthquake shock at a depth of 3.6 miles.
The USGS reported it was felt in some areas of Hollister.
