San Juan Bautista City Manager Steve Julian has resigned from his job, but he does not intend to do anymore work in the role while noting his last date of employment as June 30.
San Juan Bautista removed Julian’s interim title July 1 of last year, but he has continued working as an independent contractor making $10,000 per month while creating his own hours, according to his agreement. As a whole, he has been with San Juan for nearly three years.
The council at a special meeting Wednesday night gathered in closed session to discuss his possible dismissal, for unknown reasons, but took no action.
Julian in his resignation to the city noted how he “will be away from the City and unavailable for performance of services effective immediately through the effective date of his resignation,” according to an announcement from San Juan Mayor Andy Moore.
The San Juan council will meet to discuss plans for his replacement at the “earliest possible date,” according to the statement.
