Nick Leal wins IAB award
Nick Leal, a former Hollister resident and a 1998 graduate of San Benito High School, was honored by the Interactive Advertising Bureau in February at the 2010 Sales and Service Excellence Awards. The event celebrates the importance of outstanding leadership and performance. The honorees were selected by the IAB Sales Executive Council, who put together a two-part survey of the ad-buying community to see what sales organizations and individuals were viewed as achieving the highest standards.
Leal was honored with the salesperson of the year award for the West Coast, for his work with ValueClick Media. His clients include Visa, Nissan, NBC, CBS and Kaiser Permanente. He was presented his award by Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Goggle at the ceremony.
“The Sales Excellence Award has become one of the most telling industry awards because its qualifications are based completely on customer feedback,” said Sherrill Mane, SVP Industry Services for the IAB. “The IAB is proud to have created a mechanism that recognizes excellence in sales and this year’s recipients should be thrilled to know the demand side approves of and appreciates their efforts to provide exceptional knowledge, innovation and customer service.”
Other salespeople of the year were Midwest salesmen Todd Hayes, with 24/7 Real Media, and East Coast saleswoman Anna Lem, with Google.
Leal recently took a job as a senior account executive with Yahoo, working with Fortune 200 companies.
