The Hollister Public Works Department is doing its annual striping of crosswalks and stripes on the roads pointing out areas for drivers to stop.
Juan Lopez, a maintenance worker II for the public works department, noted that the city crews finished painting over crosswalks four days before school started.
The workers now are painting areas of roads where drivers must stop.
Lopez said he expects the city crews to finish the striping for stop areas sometime next week. It takes a while because the workers have to stripe throughout the city.
