It is that time of year again when the city’s public works crews are out tending to overgrown branches and compromised trees.

This week on Wednesday, city streets workers were out along Memorial Drive near Sunnyslope Road trimming back branches to a problem tree near the intersection.

City crews regularly work to keep tabs on overgrown branches that might impede sidewalks or street signs. But workers were cutting back most of this particular tree. It is sometimes necessary to remove damaged or diseased trees, or those that are a hazard.
