A local woman recently witnessed a horrible incidence in Gilroy. A vehicle in front of her had accidentally collided with an owl that was flying low to capture a rodent.
The driver got out of his car, but not with the intention of rescuing the poor bird-he walked over to the stunned owl, kicked it like a football, and drove off! The woman was absolutely horrified! She quickly gathered up the unconscious owl and called W.E.R.C, the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center. But God was looking down on this innocent creature-while the good-hearted woman was still on the phone getting directions to W.E.R.C., the owl suddenly revived, fluttered a bit, then amazingly flew off into the sky. The forces for good won out over evil.
