The sheriff’s office is searching for more information on a possible homicide that occurred between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday after a Hollister man was hit and killed by a vehicle on Buena Vista Road, sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Lamonica said.
Witnesses reported that two cars were racing westbound when the passenger of the lead car fell out and was run over by the pursuing car. Afterward, the two cars fled the scene, Lamonica said. The passenger died on scene.
Police still are searching for the two cars that are described as a gray, four-door sedan and a “yellowish” old Cadillac.
“As of right now, we are treating it as a homicide but it’s still unclear,” Iler said.
Look back for more information as it becomes available.
