Disturbing the peace and trespassing, Sunset Drive
Police report that two calls came from the 1200 block of Sunset Drive regarding a 33-year-old Hollister resident on the property. At 7:23 p.m. on Saturday, the victim called police saying the suspect was pounding on his door. The suspect was told to leave, and the victim was advised by police to call again if the suspect returned. At 9:21 p.m., police received another call reporting that the victim had returned and challenged the victim to fight. The suspect said he was the son of an ex-girlfriend of the victim from more than 30 years ago. The suspect was placed under citizen’s arrest by the victim and once police arrived, he was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace and trespassing.
CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS
Robbery, Tres Pinos Road
At 4:59 p.m. on Monday, two juveniles were spotted by the manager of Safeway stealing two bottles of liquor at the store on the 500 block of Tres Pinos Road. The manager had been watching the security cameras and noticed the two and saw one putting the liquor under his shirt. Upon confrontation outside, the manager tried to talk to the juveniles, told them to give the liquor back and asked them to come back inside. The manager approached the juvenile with the bottles, grabbed him and was struck with a bottle. The two suspects dropped the other bottle and ran. The case is still under investigation.
Possession of marijuana, Tres Pinos Road
At 4:43 p.m. on Thursday, police stopped a white Dodge Stratus for a defective windshield. During the stop, the officer established the male passenger was on probation and police searched the car. The driver, a 20-year-old Hollister male, was asked if there was anything illegal in the car and he admitted having a pill bottle containing marijuana. He was cited and released for marijuana possession.
Forgery, San Benito Street
A suspect attempted to cash a check with a bad I.D. at Pacheco Liquor on the 800 block of San Benito Street at 5:36 p.m. on Friday. The unknown suspect tried to cash a check using a fictitious Mexican identification card. The owner was suspicious because the picture on the I.D. didn’t look like the suspect. Upon being questioned, the suspect ran from the store.
Attempted burglary, Alvarado Street
At 9:52 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report from a homeowner on the 100 block of Alvarado Street regarding someone being in the house. The victim left the house around 7:40 p.m. and upon arriving home saw an unknown suspect running through the house. Nothing was reported stolen, and no suspect information was available.
Annoying phone calls, Union Road
Police received a report of the victim receiving four annoying phone calls in 24 hours at 1:30 a.m. Monday. While no threats were made to the victim, the unknown suspect used offensive words. The report came from the fire station on the 1000 block of Union Road.
Burglary, Liberty Drive
At 9:09 p.m. on Monday, police received a report from the 1600 block of Liberty Drive from a victim who said that a large number of CD, a car key and a 40 inch television were stolen from the residence. While the victim was away, her brother had come over and locked his dog in the garage, leaving the side door unlocked at 5:30 p.m. Once the victim returned, she found the side door kicked in, the house ransacked and that the items had been stolen. No suspect information was available.
