HOLLISTER
There were two more earthquakes south of Tres Pinos early this morning – both magnitude-3.1 – that occurred five seconds apart.
The two temblors hit at 5:58 a.m. about seven miles south of Tres Pinos and 12 miles south/southeast of Hollister.
They followed a magnitude-3.7 earthquake that shook the Tres Pinos area shortly at about 4:20 p.m. Thursday, with no reported damage.
That first minor temblor in the latest series of them hit at 4:20 p.m. Thursday and also had an epicenter of about seven miles south of Tres Pinos and 12 miles south/southeast of Hollister, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It is an area of the San Andreas Fault that experienced a flurry of activity three weeks ago with several earthquakes surpassing magnitude-3.0 and approaching magnitude-4.0.
There was no reported damage from any of the recent earthquakes.
