At 9:06 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a complaint of a
resident swinging a bat at people walking by the Bank of America on
the 300 block of San Benito Street. Upon arriving at the scene,
police found a woman in the parking lot with a bat, who placed it
on the ground when she was approached. Police asked why she had the
bat, and she said it was for protection and admitted using it as a
weapon. The 24-year-old Hollister female was arrested and booked
into the county jail.

Possession of a dangerous weapon, San Benito Street

Possession of narcotics, West Street
At 4:18 p.m. on Monday, a 20-year-old Hollister male was pulled over by police. The officer smelled alcohol coming from the car and was advised there was a BB gun in the car. After patting down the two occupants, police found the BB gun under the seat and marijuana and ecstasy pills in the trunk. The suspect took off running when the stash was found in the trunk. Police caught him shortly after that and he was arrested and booked into the county jail on counts of possession of narcotics and resisting arrest.
Parole violation, Meridian Street
At 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, police stopped a vehicle on the 700 block of Meridian Street because the occupants were not wearing seat belts. All four riders had no identification and all gave false names. Police asked the driver to leave the car and upon doing so said to put him in handcuffs because he was on parole. The officer established the driver’s name and called his parole officer. The 20-year-old Hollister male was arrested and booked into the county jail.
CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS
Willfully disturb a school, Meridian Street
At 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, police received a call from Marguerite Maze Middle School on the 900 block of Meridian Street of a student who was out of control. Police said the Hollister juvenile was throwing things around and swinging at the teacher. The school called his mother and she said she didn’t want to pick him up. Police showed up, calmed the student down and cited him for willfully disturbing a school and released him to his mother.
Grand theft, Sally Street
At 4:38 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a complaint from a man who had his computer stolen from his residence on the 100 block of Sally Street. The victim reported to police that he left for work around 7 a.m. and came home after around 2 p.m. to find only his computer missing. Police said there was no forced entry into the residence and his daughter is the only other person that a key to the residence. The case is still under investigation.
