The California Highway Patrol has confirmed the identity of the AT&T truck driver killed in a rollover Friday on Highway 25 as Derek Silva of Hollister, according to a press release from the CHP.

Silva, 39, was driving a 2004 Ford utility truck at an unknown speed shortly before 7 p.m. north of Murphy Road when the vehicle left the eastern roadway edge for unknown reasons, according to the CHP. The vehicle then crossed the road’s western edge and rolled over.

Silva was ejected, and paramedics pronounced him dead when they arrived, according to the CHP. He died of blunt force trama to the head, according to the press release.
