Mr. Thompson, you don’t know me but my name is Cindy Parr and I
manage the homeless shelter in San Benito county. While those of us
at the shelter agree that everyone is entitled to their own
opinions, we strongly disagree and think it’s morally wrong to call
people names.
Letter writer used inappropriate description of homeless shelter users
Dear Editor,
This is in response to the article written by Joe Thompson.
Mr. Thompson, you don’t know me but my name is Cindy Parr and I manage the homeless shelter in San Benito county. While those of us at the shelter agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, we strongly disagree and think it’s morally wrong to call people names. The harsh names you used to describe the homeless is hardly what these people are. Most of them are everyday normal people that have had some hard luck and are just trying to get back on their feet. We would be very grateful if in the future when voicing your opinion, please do not slander our clients.
