Born in Glendale, CA on July 14, 1936. Died June 14, 2015. Larry moved from a 50 acre ranch in Watsonville to Hollister in 1947 with his parents and sister Rita Jo. They owned and operated the Hollister Drive In Market on 4th and line street. He attended local schools and graduated from Hollister High School in 1954.
Larry went on to study engineering at Cal Berkeley and San Jose State University. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He worked with his father Mark Nicholson in the family construction company putting in 27 years in the carpenters union. He was president and CEO up until his retirement in 2000. He moved his primary residence to Shaver Lake in 1998, and traveled back and forth to Hollister on a regular basis. He also served in the National Guard. His interests included hunting, fishing, boating, photography, hang gliding, shooting, and visiting his many friends and family members both in Hollister and Shaver Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father Mark Nicholson, his mother Virginia Nicholson, and his sister Rita Nicholson. He is survived by his daughter Pam Nicholson Coustette and her husband Ernie. His son Kurt Nicholson and his wife Kim. Grandchildren Loren and Taylor Coustette and Keahna Nicholson. First cousins Julie, Sally and Andy Knornschild and their spouses. Nieces Marci Beisecker and Nikki Krecklow. He was loved and will be missed by his family and the many many people that he met over the years.
