A 17-year old female juvenile was arrested at Savemart June 5 when police say she attempted to steal several bottles of alcohol from the store.

According to a police report the girl entered the store, then tried to leave with bottles of Jose Cuervo tequila, Southern Comfort whiskey and Jagermeister liquor.

She was charged by police with burglary and booked into juvenile hall.

Cruelty to child

A 21-year-old Hollister woman was arrested by police June 5 on suspicion of cruelty to a child.

Hollister Police spokeswoman Rosie Betanio said the woman was intoxicated and began breaking glass objects around her home when a neighbor phoned police. When police arrived, Betanio said the woman’s two children were noticeably upset and the woman was arrested and booked into San Benito County Jail.
