Grady James Goldman, long time resident of Gilroy lost his lengthy battle with cancer on July 4, 2008. Grady was a fixture at the Gilroy golf course, playing daily as long as he was able. Grady was 84 years old, born June 14, 1924 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The youngest of seven children he came west, joining the army and serving in the European theater during the latter part of WWII. He was married for 55 years to Lorena Plass Goldman, who preceded him in death on December 7, 1999.

He is survived by his four children; daughters, Terri and Kathilynn, sons, Michael and Grady Lee; eight grandchildren, Jenny, Jodi, Kirsten, Trevor, Mike, Katie, Billie, and Mari; and five great-grandchildren, Shane, Dillon, Daniel, Amelia and Ryan.

Funeral services will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 11 in Gustine, CA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to VNA Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
