Volleyball: Anzar looks to rebound from tough 2013 season

SOLEDAD

Hawk Erin Deleissegues delivered an all-around performance and paced the Anzar girls volleyball team to a three-game sweep over Soledad on Tuesday.

Anzar won 25-19, 27-25, 25-17, as Deleissegues contributed 14 kills, 33 digs and one ace.

The Hawks are now 6-5 in the Mission Trail Athletic League, 13-11 overall.

Having defeated Soledad in three games earlier this season on Oct. 2, Anzar opened up the floor for some of their younger up-and-coming players Tuesday.

Sophomore setter Carly Johnson had 16 assists, five digs and two aces as a result, while freshman Alex Flores provided eight assists and eight kills.

Anzar will hit the road again on Thursday, this time to Monterey to take on Santa Catalina at 6 p.m.
