The evacuation of the area near Fairview and Sunnyslope roads due to a gas leak caused by a construction accident has been lifted, according to a statement from the Hollister Police Department.
Beachwood Court was evacuated Thursday morning after a Pacific Gas & Electric gas leak was discovered near Sunnyslope and Fairview roads.Â
Police officers went door to door helping residents evacuate within a two-block radius of the area, according to a statement from the police department. Two fire engines were also on scene, according to the fire chief.
Residents may now return to their homes, according to the statement from police.Â
