Another water main broke on San Benito Street on Aug. 7, about three weeks after a prior main break in the same block, an area near Vine Street near the high school.
Crews with the City of Hollister’s Public Works Department handled the main break and had the road fully reopened Tuesday. City Manager Bill Avera by email said it was a service lateral and “nothing extraordinary.”
It will be plated for possibly a week or two as the city lets it dry out before backfilling and paving. It was a one-inch copper line, and the two main breaks were unrelated, he said.
There were no additional costs outside of city staff time, Avera said.
