1. Miyako stays open after car crashed into store front

Miyako restaurant remains open after a car smashed into the store front last week.

“It is lucky no customers were here,” says owner Eddy Hoang, who adds that the accident.

A window was shattered and a large flowerbed made of brick was smashed in the accident, which also caused significant damage to the front door.

b2. Ex-deputy’s ammo charges, rape counts kept separate /b

A judge has ruled that ammunition charges against former sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Rodrigues will stand and that those allegations, along with other charges including a new rape allegation, are set for a preliminary hearing Dec. 8.

As of now, the weapons, ammunition and restraining order violation charges will be kept separate from the accusations of four rape counts.
