Jose P. Castaneda Jr died in Aromas due to an automobile accident. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived in Hollister almost all of his life. He worked for Advance Tech and was in the top of his class at Sierra Academy in Oakland where he majored in aeronautics. He is a 1999 graduate of San Benito High School and attended Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed listening to music in his free time.
He is survived by his parents, Jose Sr. and Maria Castaneda of Hollister, his sisters, Fabiola Castaneda, Patricia Castaneda and Julie Castaneda all of Hollister, his grandparents, Manuel and Antonia Mendez of Mexico and Jose Castaneda of Mexico and his girlfriend, Patricia Botello of Salinas. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends can pay their respects on Thurs. March 8, 2007 from 12:00 noon until 5:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. A Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. at St. Benedict’s Church on Thurs evening. The Mass will be on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Church. Friends can gather at the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. for a procession to the church. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
