San Benito County supervisors Tuesday agreed to allocate $25,000 among three business groups to promote economic development.
Supervisors voted 4-1 to allocate the funds to the San Benito County Chamber of Commerce ($18,000), Economic Development Corporation of San Benito County ($5,000) and Monterey Business Council ($2,000), according to Supervisor Anthony Botelho. Supervisor Jaime De La Cruz was the lone dissenting vote.
The decision came after presentations from the interested organizations. Botelho said the Monterey group would pay for a program within the organization “to develop business procedures for private businesses to bid on government contracts,” Botelho said.
