Herman was born in Cayucus, California on September 24, 1918. He was the eldest son of a large agricultural and dairy family. He moved to Santa Clara County in 1939 and settled in Morgan Hill, California in 1948.

He was a local teamster and drove trucks for almost 60 years. He started driving a horse drawn wagon as a child delivering milk. He moved onto hauling and delivering hay and at one point, owned his own trucking company. He later moved onto driving for Facchino Freight Lines and finished his driving career with Burt Jessup Transportation.

He loved family, playing music, and working in his garden. Herman was a charter member of the FBI (Full Blooded Italian) Club. He enjoyed participating with a local Accordion Club. Herman was an accomplished Accordion Player.

He is survived by his wife Rosemarie and three of their 6 children; Dennis Silacci (Stephanie), Lori Webb (Art), Scott Silacci (Suzanne), grandchildren: Sheri, Donn, Erik, Steven, Anthony Silacci, and Lisa (Silacci) MacDonald; Jeff, Joey, and Johnny Scorsur; Thomas and Anthony Webb; Matthew and Andrew Cummins. He has 7 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings; Clark, Stella, Gloria, and Grace. He was preceded in death by his son Myron, and their son Michael and daughter Marlene.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill. A viewing will take place from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Services will start at 1 P.M. followed by a burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in Morgan Hill after the service.
