I’ve been writing many letters, always with good intentions.
Sometimes to disagree with the ones I feel are going on the wrong
track. Many times to stand for the less fortunate. Always to
protect the county, or try to support the ones I feel have been
treated unfairly. Always trying to be fair one way or the
other.
Editor,
I’ve been writing many letters, always with good intentions. Sometimes to disagree with the ones I feel are going on the wrong track. Many times to stand for the less fortunate. Always to protect the county, or try to support the ones I feel have been treated unfairly. Always trying to be fair one way or the other.
I always try to use the most common sense I can find. I never feel angry towards anybody no matter what the subject is. We all make mistakes. I never refuse to discuss any problem with anyone who might think he needs an explanation. The truth is no one ever confronts me face to face to disagree with my philosophy. There have been a couple of people calling me. When I answer, they have nothing to say. Usually, they leave the line open where I can hear the sound of the glasses. Seems to me it comes from drinking parties. I recognize some voices in the background. I suspect two people involved with this. Both of them have vision problems and associate with booze. That to me makes them handicapped. I wish these people had the guts to meet me face to face with any problems I might have the answers for.
Today is the first time I felt angry after I read our Planning Commissioners went to the Board for guidance on the Hillside Ordinance. They want to know which direction they should take. What happened here would make anybody confused.
If I recall, our Planning Commissioners denied the Hillside Ordinance on the basis that the public was 4-1 against it. This should have been case closed. They denied the ordinance, I’m not sure if it was October or November. Then, the poor losers pushed the ordinance back to the old Board.
If I recall, the old Board had a couple of public hearings where the three new Supervisors attended and the three spoke approving the Commissioners decision. One of the new Supervisors pointed to the old Board and said, “if you pass this ordinance you are just going to make it hard on us when we take office.” I feel this newly-elected board owes the public to do what is necessary to throw this nonsense ordinance away forever.
I can’t stand ignorance. There are a few pushing for this ordinance that I finally disqualified to tell us what we must do with our properties when they can’t take care of what they own. A couple of them, I know their properties are a shame. To me it takes more than that to be a leader. When they try to run over the majority like they’ve done in the past, it’s not only wrong, but you are going to lose the respect of the voters. I’m sure of one elected official who is involved in favor of this ordinance would not think to run again. Those kind are just here to be in the way.
It takes knowledge, common sense and respect for the voters to be an elected leader. Remember, that’s the way you got elected. When you are a leader and use your time just to please your passions, you are not worth $3,600 a month. You have been elected, not to serve yourself, but elected to serve the ones who elected you, the majority.
This ordinance stinks. It is time to get rid of it so we can get along with our business. Sorry if someone feels I have stepped on their toes but I always feel the truth is the truth. And I would like to add, this is only my opinion.
