You should only vote yes on Prop. 56 if you are rich and not
paying your fair share in taxes and fees.
The poor, seniors on fixed incomes and middle class families
just making it will be hurt the most from the passage of Prop.
56.
You should only vote yes on Prop. 56 if you are rich and not paying your fair share in taxes and fees.
The poor, seniors on fixed incomes and middle class families just making it will be hurt the most from the passage of Prop. 56. Voting yes on Prop. 56 will allow the state legislature a 55 percent majority to pass and enact new taxes on the citizens of California. In this past legislative session alone, state politicians proposed more than 100 tax and fee hikes totaling nearly $65 billion. These would have passed with Prop. 56 in place
Proposition 13, which was approved in 1978, stops runaway taxes by requiring a two-thirds legislative vote. Prop. 56 destroys this important taxpayers’ protection. Prop. 56 does not hold the state legislators feet to the fire on spending. On the contrary, Prop. 56 allows the Legislature to increase the size of government by taxing you more.
So, if you buy the ads to vote yes on Prop. 56, then don’t complain when your income tax, property tax, sales tax, car tax is increased. Read Prop. 56, the devil is in the details.
Don’t let the government take more of your hard earned money, vote NO on Prop. 56.
