I guess it’s payback time. Ridgemark Corporation sued the County
Supes and now the Supes have filed a suit against Ridgemark for a
zoning violation of Ridgemark’s building
– a building that has been in existence for over 20 years. Of
course the Supes never noticed the building in all those years. It
doesn’t pay to cross our Supervisors, now does it?

“I read a comment made by two supervisor candidates and I have to respectfully disagree. I do not see Measure G dividing this community. I see a large (and getting larger every day) group of citizens stepping up and working to keep this community together.

Measure G is all about control, it is even in its title. After the few paragraphs about growth, there are over 20 pages of restrictions and punitive control tactics.

Do you really want this community to be controlled by the will of a few individuals? Or do you want to be able to work with other members of your community, experts and elected officials to PLAN and MANAGE how we change and grow to suit the changing and growing of our world?

The farmers say G doesn’t help them, M.A.P.A. says G doesn’t help their members, business owners say G doesn’t help them, so, who does it help?

This is not a divided community, this is a community growing closer together and letting the few know that we will not be fooled by their efforts to control us.”

“District Attorney John Sarsfield is a wizard – the Wizard of Oz. He hides behind the veil of the law, and now a criminal grand jury, and uses the microphone of the throw-away press to boom loudly. Yet, you never see him in court and you never will.

He called a full court press making claims of wrongdoing by former District Attorney employees, but what ever happened to all the claims?

Now, he claims to be saving the county money and modernizing by relying on a criminal grand jury to make all the tough decisions. He’s supposed to be ‘tough enough’ according to his campaign promises. And saving money? He could stop whining about being short staffed and solve the problem by going to work himself – by answering his phone calls and going to court. He is, after all, District Attorney, not District Bureaucrat.

In these tough fiscal times, can we really afford a department head who doesn’t pull his own weight? And if the criminal grand jury is such a good idea, why doesn’t every other county in the state do the same thing? Maybe the other counties don’t have a wizard.

The ‘wiz’ will now hide under the robes of the judges and behind the curtain of the grand jury, just like he hid behind the veil of the law when it came to victims’ rights. And he will use the voice of the throw-away press to explain away why crimes aren’t being prosecuted, but why he needs more help.

When will Toto reveal the little man behind the curtain, smoke and sound? Maybe we should ask Sara Jones that question.”
