Dear Editor:
I, for one, am unhappy with the County Supervisors’ hiring of outside law firms for specific specialized cases. I also understand and agree with the necessity to do so.
When a person needs heart surgery you seek the best cardiologist not a general practitioner, right?
We’ve got Mr. De La Cruz saying in one breath he has done nothing wrong and welcomes a chance to talk to investigators to resolve the March 2 election issue.
Now that the investigators are here, he’s saying he will pursue hiring a specialized election lawyer to defend himself.
Sounds like an admission of guilt to me. How about you?
Mr. De La Cruz, if you have nothing to hide, hide nothing.
Mr. Hodges acknowledges his staff clearly didn’t follow or enforce election laws. Mr. Hodges himself is seeking outside private council. Why?
How much more do you need to know before a clean redo election is held in November?
Mr. De La Cruz, if you truly want to share your innocence with the community the polygraph is still available at no charge.

Hollister
